Ashley Lovell

Therapist

Hi, my name is Ashley Lovell, and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I received my degree from Brigham Young University and have been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). My approach to therapy is rooted in the belief that healthy relationships are a powerful source of healing. As a therapist, I strive to bring my humanity into the room and create a safe space for my clients to take brave action. I believe that intimacy, emotionality, vulnerability, and healthy communication are learned skills that many of us were not fully educated on. Therefore, my goal is to educate and sit with my clients as they learn how to get themselves “unstuck” from their current struggles.

I take a client-led approach to therapy and deeply believe that all people are capable of growth and have it within themselves to heal from the past. I also recognize that several systems play a role in therapeutic issues, and I take a holistic approach to healing by exploring areas such as family, religion, media, culture, and ethnicity influences. It is an honor for me to sit with people in their messiest parts of life and witness as they find the strength within themselves to heal. I have experience working with a variety of issues such as sexual pain, differences in desire, premature ejaculation, “good girl syndrome,” sexual abuse, dysfunctional families of origin, depression, perfectionism, and anxiety.
